Description of the Team
The position is within BNP Paribas CIB - Real Estate Capital Markets EMEA, based in Madrid.
Real Estate Capital Markets (RECM) EMEA team main assignments are the following:
- Coverage of main European REITs, Real Estate Private Equity funds and Real Estate Asset Managers;
- Structuring and managing Specialised Real Estate financings mainly for Private Equity sponsors and Asset Managers. The team is spread across 7 different European hubs (Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Lisbon).
The proposed position is within the Credit & Portfolio Management (CPM) team, whose role is to ensure all front-office tasks on deals post-closing (client relationship follow-up, risks follow-up, amendments, waivers, restructurings, refinancings...).
Key Responsibilities of the role
As part of the EMEA Real Estate Capital Markets CPM team, based in Madrid, the selected candidate will participate to efficiently manage the European RECM portfolio, to contribute to the overall results of the group in terms of client follow-up, risk management and RWA monitoring. He/she will work in close cooperation and under the supervision of Seniors of the team, reporting to the local RECM CPM manager.
Main function of the role is the due management & proactive monitoring of portfolio of allocated clients and transactions to CPM (post-closing) during construction and/or operation periods, including without limitation:
1. Depending on the case, and in close collaboration with the Seniors of the team, ensure:

Annual reviews are performed on time, waiver / amendment requests are duly handled, covenants are met as requested by documentation, and generally internal processes post closing are met

Organize the control and follow-up of drawings under development financing agreements within agreed facility limits and conditions.

Obtain timely information to allow full analysis on the portfolio and report relevant findings to internal stakeholders.

Relevant duties are performed, incl KYC timely renewal

Deal financial models are maintained as needed

Liaison with Middle office and Booking Center, as well as with Agency when relevant

Ensure data quality regular checks and ensure the timely provision of all information required for Regulatory reporting
2. Ensure fluent and effective information exchange between the Relationship Managers on credit facilities, to efficiently manage credit files allocated to CPM.
3. Liaise with Risk Corporate with regards to the risk profiles of clients and risk monitoring tools as well as presenting to credit committees
4. Ensure timely preparation of quarterly Watch List and Doubtful status
5. Provide support to the Seniors in the execution of refinancings and restructurings / complex files.
Experience, Qualifications & Competencies
1. Previous experience in a similar area, preferably in the structured finance sector
2. Expertise:
- Have a sound understanding of the Bank’s credit approval process
- High level of analytical skills, ability to construct a broad point of view and market convictions 3. IT literacy in Microsoft Office and the Bank’s systems for risk and portfolio monitoring
4. Based on portfolio analysis and available related information, provide as relevant feedback to other RECM teams on sectorial, technical, regulatory, market, developments, etc
5. Language: Fluent in English (mandatory) & Italian (preferred). Spanish proficiency is a plus.
