Agilent is seeking an experienced SAP Tax Technology professional to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our indirect tax solutions across a dynamic, global SAP landscape. We are looking for a visionary expert to serve as the critical bridge between our Tax, Business Partners and IT organizations. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep expertise in SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) to architect scalable, automated solutions that power our global tax compliance, e-Invoicing, and regulatory reporting on a worldwide stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) solutions alongside internal and external IT partners.
- Architect and implement custom tax solutions when standard SAP functionality falls short of business needs.
- Provide advanced techno-functional expertise across SAP tax configuration, customization, automation, and system integration.
- Translate complex tax compliance requirements into robust SAP solution designs and clear technical specifications.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams —including Finance, Procurement, Order-to-Cash, Supply Chain, and IT—to drive successful project outcomes.
- Identify and execute opportunities to optimize tax processes through automation, standardization, and emerging technologies.
- Support global tax compliance initiatives, ensuring all technology solutions adapt seamlessly to evolving regulatory requirements. Qualifications
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Tax Technology, driving the design, implementation, support, and optimization of indirect tax solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC): Proven ability to design, configure, and deploy comprehensive DRC solutions is essential.
- Deep expertise in global e-Invoicing: Strong background leading global tax technology rollouts and indirect tax compliance solutions across multiple countries and jurisdictions.
- Advanced SAP configuration experience: Deep expertise across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.While knowledge of Materials Management (MM) and Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO) is expected, strong functional and technical knowledge of the Sales and Distribution (SD) module is highly preferred.
- End-to-end SAP project experience spanning solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support (demonstrating execution capabilities beyond business requirements gathering).
- Dual-environment delivery experience, successfully implementing tax solutions in both SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA.
- Strong understanding of indirect tax processes, including VAT, GST, Sales & Use Tax, withholding tax, and other transactional taxes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Global mindset, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications (A Big Plus)
Hands-on experience integrating Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Tax Determination with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, including tax calculations, master data, transaction processing, and reporting integrations.
