In Vestas, we #PowerTheSolution – Can you?
Vestas Technology & Operation > Research & Development (R&D) > Software Product Delivery and Security
Software Product Delivery and Security is the platform engineering and DevOps enablement team at Vestas, responsible for building, running, and evolving the Internal Developer Platform - the shared infrastructure, tooling, and practices that hundreds of application developers across multiple product domains rely on to develop, deliver, and operate their software deliveries. We supply the platform our engineers ship from every day, along with the building blocks and integrations that power their CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational practices, in close collaboration with the development teams. We are a small, tight-knit team split between Aarhus, Denmark, and Porto, Portugal. We work on our own but stay closely synced - each person owns their domain and takes it seriously.
Responsibilities
Evolve and build CI/CD strategy for development teams across the Turbine and Power Plant software domain
Own and evolve the internal developer platform, ensuring it meets the needs of engineering teams while maintaining reliability and security standards
Contribute to the operational platform roadmap, balancing reliability, developer experience, and technical evolution
Align and enable stakeholders across engineering teams on platform capabilities, direction, and best practices
Ensure platform reliability and stability through proactive monitoring, incident response, and structured follow-up
Build and maintain automation to reduce toil and improve the developer experience across the platform
Collaborate closely with application teams to help them ship faster and more confidently
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering in production environments
Practical experience with cloud-native tooling - Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline design (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Helm, or equivalent)
Demonstrated ability to operate and improve shared developer platforms in production
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Competencies
End-to-end ownership - takes full responsibility for problems from discovery to resolution, without waiting for direction
Clear, effective communication - able to align stakeholders, write crisp technical documentation, and review pull requests with clarity
Distributed team collaboration - thrives in a small, high-trust, cross-location team where communication and accountability matter
Pragmatic decision making - balances stability, velocity, and complexity with sound engineering judgment
Systems thinking - understands how platform decisions ripple across CI/CD, security, operations, and developer experience
Security-minded engineering - incorporates secure-by-default practices into pipelines, automation, and platform components
Operational excellence - comfortable with monitoring, incident response, and structured post-incident improvement
Automation-first mindset - seeks to eliminate toil and create self-service capabilities for developers
Stakeholder enablement - builds trust with application teams and helps them adopt platform capabilities effectively
Continuous improvement - consistently identifies gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to evolve the platform
Technical leadership - influences direction, standards, and best practices without relying on authority
Confidence under ambiguity - comfortable shaping solutions in evolving technical and organizational landscapes
