As a Senior Financial Analyst, Reference Labs Pathology & Microbiology you will perform a variety of financial planning, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, reconciliation and other related financial activities. You will partner with lines of business to provide financial consulting, advice and support. Compile and analyze financial statements, information and reports. Develop revenue/expense and other financial analyses, reports and presentations.

In this role:

  • You will cover the following areas:

Business Partner

  • Serve as the primary financial partner to senior and executive leadership across Pathology, Cytology, and Microbiology, providing decision-ready recommendations on investment, capacity, and margin performance.
  • Partner with Product Management and TechOps to provide global financial leadership and decision support for Microbiology.
  • Advise senior operational leaders on operational performance, capacity, and investment opportunities.
  • Provide decision support on test mix, pricing, volume growth, capacity planning, productivity initiatives, and margin performance.
  • Identify, quantify, and track savings and productivity initiatives to ensure benefits are realized.
  • Develop opportunity and risk assessments tied to diagnostic demand, turnaround time, staffing, and cost structure.
  • Partner with the Reference Labs line of business, providing tools, dashboards, and reports for timely decision‑making; challenge assumptions and ensure decisions are financially sound.

FP&A & Reporting

  • Lead strategic planning, annual budget, and rolling forecast processes for Pathology & Microbiology.
  • Own period-end close activities, including revenue and expense accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reporting; deliver actionable performance insights.
  • Accountable for monthly reporting and analysis of revenue, gross margin, capital, and operating expenses.
  • Provide forward-looking guidance related to staffing, capacity, growth drivers, instrumentation, and facility needs.

Strategic & Project Support

  • Develop financial models for high‑impact enterprise initiatives, including new test launches, portfolio expansion, automation, and productivity investments.
  • Support strategic planning by translating financial models into forecast and long-range plan impacts including revenue, margin, and capital.
  • Prepare executive‑level presentations translating financial and operational data into clear recommendations.
  • Lead and support ad hoc strategic initiatives for the Global Microbiology department.
  • Drive standardization and optimization of FP&A processes, reporting formats, and performance metrics across supported labs.
  • Provide financial leadership for ad hoc forecasting, analysis, and modeling in support of Global Reference Labs priorities.

Governance & Controls

  • Serve as the accountable finance owner for control effectiveness within Pathology & Microbiology, escalating material gaps directly to senior finance leadership.
  • Leverage multiple systems for financial reporting, analysis, and insight generation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in planning, reporting, and performance monitoring; drive automation and efficiency where possible.
  • Monitor the internal control environment; identify control gaps and support development and implementation of mitigation strategies.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A or finance experience, including ownership of complex planning cycles and senior‑level business partnership.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and influence operational decision‑making.
  • Excellent communicator, able to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced, global environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools and financial systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting laboratory operations, healthcare diagnostics, manufacturing, or regulated environments strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
