Amentum is seeking a Utility Liaison to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Utility Liaison will be the primary liaison between utility providers, installation personnel, and company leadership to ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of utility services supporting mission requirements. This position coordinates utility service requests, planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and operational activities while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between utility providers, installation personnel, and company leadership.
- Coordinate utility serve requests, outages, emergency repairs, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Monitor the operational status and performance of utility systems and communicate issues to engineering and facilities team.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, logs, and documentation related to utility operations and service coordination.
- Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of utility upgrades, inspections, preventive maintenance, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve utility service disruptions.
- Track utility related work orders and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable safety standards.
- Provide regular status updates and operational reports to management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with multiple departments to minimize operational impacts during planned or emergency utility work.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and assessments related to utility systems and infrastructure.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Education or technical training in utilities, engineering, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in utilities coordination, facilities support, engineering administration, maintenance operations, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects or service requests in a fast paced environment.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
- Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce
- A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. Valid country driver’s license. and passport.
- Familiarity with utility infrastructure including electrical distribution, water, wastewater, telecommunications, or related systems.
- Experience supporting government or military installations.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
