What to Expect The EMEA Energy team is seeking a Bid Team Manager to lead the Megapack energy storage bid team, based out of our Amsterdam headquarters. If you are an experienced people leader who is passionate about driving success in winning large-scale battery energy storage projects, this is an opportunity to contribute to our business development initiatives and drive revenue growth for our Megapack solution in EMEA.
As the Bid Team Manager, you will lead the bid specialist team which prepares winning, detailed and innovative tender proposals. Our team is dedicated, passionate and mission driven.
What You'll Do* Lead and manage a team of bid specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure continuous improvement and skill development
- Supervise the entire bid and tender process for each project, from the supply of Megapacks to full turnkey EPC proposals
- Lead major bids and drive the strategy to successfully win them
- Collaborate with the regional sales manager and Bid Specialist to select bids that meet Tesla's criteria, prioritizing workload while considering supporting teams.- Bring key tenders to management review and approval (US and EMEA) when necessary
- Develop and implement strategies to create compelling and innovative proposals that exceed market standards
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure bids are competitive and meet both client and Tesla requirements.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, understanding their bid requirements as a trusted senior leader
- Continuously optimize the bid process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Innovate with new tools toto educate customers about Tesla’s unique solutions
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation and processes
What You'll Bring* Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent written and communication skills, with a proven ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships
- Strong knowledge of the battery energy storage or renewables markets, both economically and technically
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex documents and processes
- Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of tender processes
- Capable of working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines
- Strong English skills. Proficiency in another European language (particularly German), is a plus
- Flexibility to travel periodically (up to 25% of the time)
