We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong Data Engineering mindset to join a challenging project focused on data archiving, automation and modern data pipelines.
You’ll work on solutions that move structured and unstructured data into secure object storage, build searchable archives, and help organisations retain and access legacy application data efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and maintain automated ETL and data pipelines
- Design solutions for structured and unstructured data
- Develop searchable archives for regulatory and compliance requirements
- Create frameworks for ingesting decommissioned application data
- Develop secure interfaces for searching archived data
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes
- Code, test, document and maintain production-ready solutions
- Work with cross-functional teams and communicate progress, risks and technical decisions
- Deliver solutions to demanding timelines and support customer handover
What we’re looking for
Must have:
- Strong experience with Python or PowerShell across Windows and Linux
- Experience with at least one object-oriented language such as C#, JavaScript or .NET
- Experience with UI development, ideally React
- Experience building and optimising data pipelines and working with large datasets
- Strong analytical skills across structured and unstructured data
- Experience designing data transformation, metadata and workload management processes
- Good understanding of data engineering and ETL concepts
- Excellent communication skills in English
Nice to have:
- Ansible Automation Platform and playbook development
- MSSQL and/or Oracle experience
- Knowledge of SIARD and database archiving
- Experience with Hitachi Content Platform (HCP)
- Experience with Solr
- Background in archiving, compliance or application decommissioning
