The team is responsible for developing technologies, calibration methodologies, and the respective instrumentation for the calibration and validation of Apple's products. These solutions will be used during New Product Introduction (NPI) and transferred to mass production.

Description

The role of the Laser Compliance Systems Engineer is to design and deploy effective calibration and test strategies for Apple's depth sensors and laser-based systems across our product range. Technical communication with instrumentation vendors within Europe and Asia

Introduction of new test coverage with minimal impact on current test infrastructure

Work with a cross-functional team (mechanical, SW, EE, optics) to implement the calibration and test coverage during NPI

Develop repeatable and reproducible processes that meet mass production requirements without affecting customer experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with image processing and computer vision algorithm development

Experience with VCSEL, structured light, and depth sensors

Understanding of laser safety standards

Minimum Qualifications

>4 years of experience in an international setting and a strong technical background in optical engineering, laser depth sensing, or computer vision

Familiarity with optical equipment, performance metrics, and metrology

Competence in data analysis and algorithm development in Python or Matlab

Self-motivated, independent, and dedicated, with excellent English communication and presentation skills

Thrives in a highly cross-functional environment and has a strong willingness to learn

Can easily adapt to different technologies within the camera and optics space
