Welcome to Market Trading
You'll become part of Continental & UK Trading, where we generate value through trading across European power, carbon, and gas markets. The team combines experienced traders, analysts, quants, and developers, creating an environment where market insights, data-driven decision making, and innovation come together.
In this role, you'll focus on Continental European and UK power curve products, leveraging your understanding of market fundamentals, cross-commodity relationships, and risk dynamics to identify and execute profitable trading opportunities.
As a team, we're ambitious, collaborative, and highly performance-oriented. We challenge each other's thinking, share knowledge openly, and continuously adapt to changing market conditions. This creates an exciting environment for experienced traders looking to make an impact while continuing to develop professionally.
You’ll play an important role in:
- delivering strong trading performance across Continental and UK power markets within an allocated risk mandate
- developing and executing trading strategies across forward and futures markets, with a particular focus on curve products
- identifying market opportunities through analysis of power fundamentals, weather, cross-border flows, fuel markets, carbon pricing, and broader macroeconomic developments
- helping shape and enhance systematic trading capabilities by collaborating closely with quantitative analysts and algorithmic developers
- actively managing risk and ensuring disciplined position management under changing market conditions
- translating market developments into actionable trading decisions and commercial outcomes.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have significant experience trading European power markets, especially Continental European and/or UK markets
- have a proven track record of delivering results within a delegated trading mandate and managing risk effectively
- possess a strong understanding of power market fundamentals and the key drivers influencing curve valuations
- can develop clear market views and translate them into profitable trading strategies
- combine strong analytical and numerical capabilities with sound commercial judgement
- are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where decisions must be made under uncertainty
- thrive in close collaboration with traders, analysts, quants, and developers
- communicate openly, challenge constructively, and contribute positively to a high-performing team culture.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
