Your role
In the role of Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for proactive identification of issues in production environment leveraging observability tools with the aim of reducing MTTD and MTTR. In the process, you will also be collaborating and working closely with business, product and engineering teams, across geographies. Flexibility to work in rotation shifts/on call support environment is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development* Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC/Web API.
- Develop and enhance web applications, APIs, background services, and microservices.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, and technical discussions.
- Develop database objects including SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities.
- Collaborate with business users, QA teams, architects, and other developers to deliver solutions.
Production Support* Provide L2/L3 production support for .NET applications and services.
- Monitor application health, system performance, and production environments.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents within SLA timelines.
- Analyze application logs, error reports, and database issues to identify root causes.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Support batch jobs, interfaces, APIs, and scheduled processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities.
Required Technical Skills
Core Technologies* Strong experience in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core
- ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs
- SQL Server (T SQL, performance tuning, execution plans)
Application & Infrastructure* IIS, Windows Server
- REST/SOAP web services
- Familiarity with Azure or AWS (App Services, VMs, monitoring – preferred)
- Logging & monitoring tools (App Insights, Splunk, ELK, etc.)
DevOps & Tools* CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins – any)
- Source control: Git
- Ticketing tools: ServiceNow(or equivalent), JIRA, Azure DevOps
Preferred Skills* Experience in telecommunication domain.
- Exposure to PowerShell scripting
- ITIL Foundation certification
