You will join our Core Banking department. The Core Customer team oversees developing and maintaining the central customer core capabilities that support critical banking processes and integrations across the organization. The team plays a key role in ensuring stable, scalable, and future-ready customer solutions in BEC.
The Application Architect role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on development with architectural leadership in a business-critical domain. You will help shape the technical direction of the team while also staying close to implementation, refinement, and delivery in collaboration with experienced colleagues. Your direct manager will be Jennipher Elex-Carentius.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
- Contribute hands-on to development and solution design across the team’s application landscape, including integration systems and core customer platforms (approx. 30%).
- Refine tasks with the team, clarify technical scope, and support the breakdown of epics into implementable work items (approx. 20%).
- Drive application architecture decisions, ensure solution coherence, and balance short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability and modernization goals (approx. 30%).
- Work closely with software engineers, business analysts, architects, and business stakeholders across Denmark and Poland to align technical direction with business priorities.
- Travel to Denmark may occur occasionally, for example for team collaboration, workshops, or key planning activities.
- Act as a technical sparring partner in the team, support architectural documentation, and help strengthen engineering practices and knowledge sharing.
To succeed you will have:
- Strong technical competencies in application architecture, system integration, solution design, and software development in complex enterprise environments.
- Solid experience in a role combining architectural responsibility with hands-on development and technical refinement.
- Strong communication skills, structured problem solving, and the ability to bridge business needs and technical solutions.
- A proactive, pragmatic, and dependable profile with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive technical clarity.
- A curious and collaborative mindset with a strong willingness to share knowledge and support others.
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience with modernization of legacy or business-critical systems.
- Knowledge of the financial sector, banking processes, or regulatory-driven system requirements.
- Experience with M365 Copilot is considered an advantage.
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools is considered an advantage.
