Would you like to play a key role in shaping the future of strategic procurement within GEA? We are looking for an experienced Strategic Buyer Mechanical to join our Procurement & Supply Chain organization in Søborg. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established strategic procurement team that is helping transform procurement from an operational function into a strategic business partner.### Your responsibilities and tasks
As Strategic Buyer Mechanical, you will be responsible for both external and internal suppliers within the mechanical category for the Søborg site. Working closely with local stakeholders, global category management, and suppliers, you will drive strategic initiatives that strengthen competitiveness and supply security.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing site-specific category strategies for the mechanical category.
- Managing supplier relationships and acting as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned suppliers.
- Driving supplier development initiatives, innovation programs, and continuous improvement activities.
- Running RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier selection activities in alignment with business and category strategies.
- Supporting project procurement activities during both pre-sales and project execution phases.
- Monitoring supplier performance across quality, delivery, capacity, sustainability, and commercial performance.
- Leading supplier review meetings and maintaining supplier development roadmaps.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across engineering, operations, supply chain, and the global procurement organization.
Your profile and qualifications
To succeed in this role, you bring both strategic procurement expertise and strong commercial knowledge. In addition, we imagine that you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a similar relevant field.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic procurement.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience handling complex commercial negotiations.
- Experience with contract and framework agreement management.
- Solid analytical skills and experience with cost analysis and market analysis.
- Experience working in complex, international organizations.
- Knowledge of procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, SAP CP
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
