Mission
Design and drive the execution of the Value Creation Plans across Prismore Capital’s portfolio companies, working in close partnership with their respective management teams to accelerate sustainable value creation.
The Operating Partner’s mission is to diagnose the key challenges and opportunities within each business, mobilise the critical transformation levers, and ensure that implemented improvements translate into tangible, sustainable and scalable results, while simultaneously developing management teams and strengthening the executive autonomy of the portfolio companies.
Rather than taking on a permanent operational role, the Operating Partner is expected to enter, understand, transform, build capability and leave lasting capacity in place, working across different areas of the business whenever required.
Responsibilities
- Co-lead, together with the management teams of the portfolio companies, the development, update and execution of the Value Creation Plans, ensuring alignment with Prismore Capital’s investment thesis and value creation objectives;
- Rapidly identify the key constraints and opportunities within each business, prioritising the initiatives with the greatest potential impact;
- Act on the main value creation levers, including operational and commercial excellence, working capital, talent, strategic repositioning, stronger management and governance practices, and buy-and-build initiatives;
- Monitor the execution of transformation plans, challenge priorities and intervene whenever results or progress deviate from the agreed objectives;
- Contribute to the operational assessment of potential investments during the screening and due diligence phases;
- Lead the operational workstream of new portfolio company integrations, protecting the core business, implementing governance models, developing management teams and activating the relevant playbooks;
- During the Run & Grow phase, act as a strategic challenger to management teams, participating in governance forums, calibrating priorities and promoting the transfer of lessons learned and best practices across portfolio companies;
- Mobilise and adapt the holding company’s management system to the needs, maturity and specific context of each portfolio company;
- Lead transformation initiatives, engaging stakeholders and teams at different levels of the organisation;
- Where necessary, assume interim executive responsibilities, ensuring the subsequent transfer of knowledge and capability back into the organisation;
- Develop and update transformation methodologies and operating models, incorporating lessons learned and best practices from across the portfolio;
- Build solutions, processes and systems that remain effective after the intervention, ensuring that impact does not depend on the Operating Partner’s permanent presence.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering or a related field; additional executive education will be valued;
- More than 10 years of professional experience in highly complex industrial environments with significant operational demands and a strong transformation agenda; experience in the automotive sector or comparable industrial environments will be particularly valued;
- Solid experience in leading operations, industrial teams and organisational transformation processes;
- Proven track record in leading and implementing large-scale industrial transformation projects, with tangible and measurable results;
- Relevant experience across at least two distinct functional areas, demonstrating the ability to operate effectively beyond the individual’s original area of expertise;
- Strong knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean, continuous improvement, project management and performance management;
- Strong diagnostic capability, with the ability to quickly identify the true constraint within a business, even when it lies outside the individual’s original functional area;
- Ability to combine strategic perspective with operational depth, moving naturally between the Board, management teams and the shop floor;
- Strong influencing and mobilisation skills in matrix environments, with the ability to drive change without relying on direct hierarchical authority;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages and level of detail to very different audiences, from operational teams to CEOs, Boards and shareholders;
- Critical thinking, analytical rigour and the ability to constructively challenge decisions, including in highly demanding and high-visibility contexts;
- Strong sense of pragmatism, high execution capability and consistent results orientation, with the ability to turn diagnosis into action and bring initiatives to completion while avoiding dispersion across multiple workstreams;
- Intellectual curiosity, strong learning agility and the ability to quickly understand new businesses, sectors, technologies and operating models;
- Maturity, resilience and independent thinking, with the ability to defend well-founded positions even when they involve difficult or unpopular decisions;
- Genuine ability to develop people and organisations, with a strong focus on building internal capability and autonomy.
