Amentum is seeking a Supply Technician Transportation to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough parts research for all vehicles and equipment utilized by the government, ensuring accurate and complete information is provided for procurement purposes.
- Utilize applicable parts breakdowns from manufacturers, military technical orders, and other resources to identify, verify, and source required parts and equipment.
- Interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals to locate and recommend suitable replacement parts.
- Maintain an organized catalog of parts research and documentation, ensuring updates are made to reflect changes in inventory, equipment, or specifications.
- Assist in tracking and expediting parts orders to minimize delays in vehicle and equipment maintenance and operations.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance staff to identify and resolve issues regarding the availability or compatibility of required parts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and government procurement standards when sourcing and recommending parts.
- Prepare and submit reports detailing parts research, procurement activity, and status of outstanding orders as required by program management.
- Train staff in interpreting manufacturer and military technical orders to conduct parts research effectively.
- Maintain detailed inventory control for parts research and procurement activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of procurement operations.
- Required to comply with all occupational safety and health standards, rules, and orders applicable to their actions and conduct. The role demands consistent, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proactive reporting of workplace hazards, and total adherence to safety protocols to maintain a zero-injury environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in supply, logistics, or parts research for vehicles and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and parts breakdowns from manufacturers and military technical orders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in documentation and research.
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete records for part research and procurement activity.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

- Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
- Valid country driver’s license.
- Familiarity with government or Department of Defense procurement systems and procedures.
- Training or certification in inventory or supply chain management, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar.
- Knowledge of automotive, heavy vehicle, and equipment components commonly used in military and government operations.
- Experience working in a transportation and logistics environment with direct responsibility for parts sourcing and inventory control.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
