From our location in Nijmegen, we support pharmaceutical companies worldwide in transforming promising active pharmaceutical ingredients into robust drug products.
As part of Ofichem, we combine the former Avivia’s drug product development expertise with broader capabilities in API sourcing, development, manufacturing and finished dosage form production. Job description
As Project Manager Drug Product Development, you will lead pharmaceutical development projects from the initial customer request through to final delivery. You will be the main point of contact for the customer and the link between the customer, Ofichem Nijmegen’s R&D team and other internal or external stakeholders.
You will manage several projects simultaneously and ensure that activities are completed on time, within the agreed scope and budget, and in accordance with applicable quality requirements. You will maintain a clear overview of project plans, progress, risks, decisions and deliverables while ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
You will also help identify opportunities within existing customer relationships and contribute to the continued development and professionalisation of project management within Ofichem Nijmegen.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate pharmaceutical drug development and analytical projects.
- Translate customer requests into clear project plans, timelines, budgets and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of formulation scientists, analytical chemists and other specialists.
- Organise and chair internal project meetings and customer update meetings.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, milestones and resource requirements.
- Identify, assess and manage project risks, changes and escalations.
- Ensure that project activities meet agreed quality and compliance requirements.
- Prepare clear project updates and reports for customers and management.
- Support the preparation of proposals, quotations and project scopes.
- Recognise opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
- Contribute to process improvements and the continued growth of Ofichem.
What we ask of you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused project manager with a structured approach, strong communication skills and a practical, results-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate has:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, life sciences, biotechnology or a related discipline.
- At least three to five years of relevant project management experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences industry.
- Experience with pharmaceutical R&D, product development or CMC projects is a strong advantage.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- A proactive, independent and results-oriented working style.
- Excellent spoken and written English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
