Introduction
In the Algebraic Combinatorics group at Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands), there is a vacancy for a 1 year postdoc position. This postdoc position is supervised by Aida Abiad (https://aidaabiad.win.tue.nl/).
The vacancy closing date will be the 31.12.26, or until the position is filled. The preferred starting date is in Spring 2026.
Job Description
This project will have a focus on spectral graph theory and its interaction to the fields (such as extremal graph theory and coding theory).
You will work under the supervision of Aida Abiad in the Algebraic Combinatorics group within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at TU/e. Your responsibilities include to perform scientific research on the topic of the above-mentioned project. For a small percentage of your time, you may be asked to assist with educational tasks.
Job Requirements
- You have a PhD degree in Mathematics.
- You have a strong background in Combinatorics and Algebraic Graph Theory.
- You have good communication skills.
- You are creative, ambitious, as well as self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.
- You have a good command of the English language (knowledge of Dutch is not required).

- Full-time employment for 1 year.
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10, ranging from € 4,422 (step 4) to € 5,760 gross base salary per month (full-time).
- In addition to your base salary, you will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus, both calculated based on your annual gross base salary.
- As a TU/e employee, you participate in the ABP pension scheme, providing retirement pension and pension benefits for surviving dependents and occupational disability. TU/e pays 70% of the pension premium, while employees contribute the remaining 30%.
