Senior Product Manager (Platform)
VIO · Amsterdam, Netherlands
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
At Vio, we believe booking accommodation should feel fair and effortless, never overwhelming or unclear.
As one of the world's fastest-growing travel tech platforms, we help millions of users make smarter travel decisions by comparing stays across 100+ booking sites so that they can find the best place, at the best price, anywhere in the world.
Our goal is to help travelers book like an insider. That means cutting through the noise and complexity of hotel booking and surfacing real value with clarity, transparency, and full support. No tricks. No confusion. Just great stays, booked with confidence.
With operations in 100+ markets and growing fast, our mission is to reshape how people discover and book accommodation through technology that travelers can trust.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own platform products at Vio.
Our platform is where the economics of the marketplace get decided. Pricing, request optimization, price accuracy, supply integration, content, and the APIs we expose to partners. These systems determine which accommodations and deals a traveler sees, drive their decision-making, and shape what we earn on it. They have a direct impact on both our internal teams and end-user experience.
You will join one of our platform domains and own several of its products end to end. The portfolio is dynamic: priorities move, and the shape of what you own moves with them. That asks for range, and for someone who is comfortable in unfamiliar systems.
You will report to the Group Product Manager of your domain, and work day to day with engineers, tech leads, analysts, data scientists, and leadership, plus the commercial teams where your scope touches partners.
What you'll do
- Own several product areas within your domain end to end - strategy, roadmap, initiatives, and metrics - aligning across the teams and stakeholders your work depends on.
- Decide how success is measured, and ensure that the product meets its goals, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Move the numbers that matter commercially. Platform work at Vio shows up in margin, yield and conversion, and your decisions should land there.
- Discover opportunities, scope them, and give your squad a clear what and a why they believe.
- Translate complex, ambiguous challenges into clearly scoped initiatives that deliver concrete outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with other PMs, analysts, engineers, data scientists and leadership to align priorities and ensure group-level strategy is translated into impactful work.
- Be a hands-on PM: dive into data, read documentation, QA features, and debug with engineers when needed.
- Raise the bar on how your team develops product, not only on what it ships.
- Use AI as a tool in your own product work, and help the group get better at it.
Who you are
- You have 6+ years in product management, or fewer with a strong engineering or data background behind it.
- You have owned platform or technical products where the output was a price, an offer, a ranking, a match or a data feed, rather than primarily a screen. You understand the system, not just the interface.
- You have experience with data-driven product development and worked according to agile methodologies, with a passion for solving problems translating solutions into requirements that your team can execute.
- You are comfortable with APIs, integrations, data models, algorithms and recommendation systems, and you hold your own with engineers on decisions that shape architecture. You do not need to write code.
- You know how to work with data, utilise it and enable your product to produce it.
- You know how to influence decision-making at all levels within an organisation and in a variety of contexts.
- You have moved between product domains before and ramped fast. When you meet an unfamiliar problem you ask better questions than you give answers.
- You always strive for clarity and transparency -an excellent communicator that can effectively collaborate both with engineers and business stakeholders.
Nice to have: a scientific or engineering degree, though quantitative role experience counts equally; experience in marketplaces, adtech, game tech or travel; two-sided marketplace economics, balancing traveler needs against partner and supply constraints.
