We are looking for a Software Engineer who combines strong technical skills with ownership, creativity, and a continuous improvement mindset. This role is for someone who does not just implement requirements, but actively contributes ideas, challenges assumptions, and helps shape better solutions.
You & your role
Build and operate the backend services that power Rabobank's digital experiences. As Software Engineer (Java 21+), you design secure microservices, improve observability, solve production challenges and help shape better solutions together with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders.

You & your talent
You are a software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and making systems better. You bring fresh ideas, think beyond the immediate requirement, and actively contribute to the direction of the team and platform. You combine strong hands-on development skills with an engineering mindset focused on quality, reliability and continuous improvement. Most importantly, you're someone who sees opportunities, takes initiative, and helps move the team forward.
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot
- Solid understanding of distributed microservice architectures and API design
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability tooling
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment practices
- Comfortable bringing forward ideas, challenging the status quo and influencing technical decisions
- Fluent in English and able to collaborate effectively with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders
