What will you do as an Independent Chef I?
1. Your duties include carrying out preparatory kitchen work, such as washing vegetables, cutting and filleting salmon, and cutting lamb chops and beef for the preparation of various dishes. You will work as part of a kitchen team of approximately 5 colleagues under the supervision of the head chef.
2. You prepare and cook a variety of dishes and carry out interim quality and hygiene checks.
3. You prepare and check dishes before they are served, after which the waiting staff can take them and place them in heated serving dishes or chafing dishes.
4. You plan the daily kitchen activities, order food products and other stock replenishments from regular suppliers, and check the ordered and delivered food products.
5. You supervise the work of kitchen assistants and provide them with instructions and guidance where necessary.
6. Before closing each day, you clean your own working area, kitchen equipment and machinery. You also assist any kitchen assistants with cleaning the entire kitchen and storing delivered goods.
7. You are a good team player, have a flexible attitude and possess good communication skills.
8. You contribute to maintaining and improving quality and efficiency, assist with updating menus, and help develop recipes and preparation instructions.
9. The preferred qualification is an MBO Level 3 vocational diploma or an equivalent qualification, combined with knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
What do we offer?
· A gross salary between €2,600 and €3,100 per month, based on a 38-hour working week and in accordance with the Dutch Hospitality Industry Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO)
· 25 vacation days
· 8% holiday allowance
· A temporary employment contract for a minimum period of 1 year
· Travel allowance for commuting distances of 10 kilometres or more
