Description The EHS&Q Manager is a combined role:
For the EHS part, the manager is responsible for managing the site to prevent occupational- and process safety incidents. The manager is responsible for promoting the safety culture at the site to a proactive, interdependent culture. He/she ensures that both legal- and corporate requirements are met in the field of health, environment and safety at the entire location.
For the quality part, the manager is responsible for the quality management system (ISO 9001) including audits and complaint handling and the correct functioning of the QC lab.
Job Details Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Conducting internal and external ESH&Q audits, inspections & recordkeeping
- Industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments
- Perform on both own plant environment as well as externa tolling-sites
- Equipment inspections, safety performance tracking and reporting
- Safety and health training of employees (in cooperation with training officer)
- Incident investigation and corrective action tracking
- Manage required reporting and filing relative to local, site and national regulatory agencies.
- Responsibility and Authority to oversee the development, implementation, review, maintenance, and management of the on-site Quality program
- Approves all plant procedures and any changes that may affect the Quality of the product
- Maintains all regulatory documents and forms including licenses
- Manages and facilitates all compliance activities for ISO, cGMP, etc. and provides training programs (in close cooperation with training officer)
- Manage daily workload and ensures efficient and safe operations of the QC lab
- Trends data and reports potential problems to Management
- Coordinates all on-site regulatory and customer audits and reporting
- Coordinates investigation of all customer complaints/dissatisfactions and reporting
- Responsible for auditing of both contract laboratories and processors including evaluation of proposed new and alternate raw material suppliers.
- Develops and implements new and/or improved programs to assure continual Quality improvements
- Maintains authority over budget and scheduling for areas of responsibility

- Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements
- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
- Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

- Assists in the training, mentoring, and assessment of other team members

Education and Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Health and Safety with chemistry or chemical engineering background or a related field plus minimum of 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Desired:
- 5+ years’ experience in Production/Operations environment in the chemical industry in the Netherlands
- Experience with coaching and leading a small team of technical experts
- Experience of min 2 years with ISO quality management system.
