Join LEGO House as Experience Designer and bring the power of play to Life
Billund, Denmark
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
At LEGO House, play is at the heart of everything we do. We create imaginative and memorable moments that inspire creativity, spark curiosity, and bring people together across generations. We believe that play is not just fun. It is a meaningful way to learn, connect, and explore the world.
As an Experience Designer, you will contribute to the development of engaging, story-driven experiences that delight guests of all ages. Working collaboratively from early ideation through prototyping and implementation, you will help transform ideas into tangible experiences that combine hands-on LEGO play, learning through play, storytelling, and human connection.
You will also play an important role in shaping physical environments and play spaces, considering how guests move through a space, interact with furnishings and installations, and experience the overall flow of an experience.
The position is based in Billund, and we do not offer relocation assistance or visa support for this role.
Core Responsibilities
As our new Experience Designer, you will:
- Contribute to the creation of playful, engaging experiences that turn LEGO play into meaningful guest journeys.
- Develop, prototype, and test concepts in physical spaces, using guest observations and feedback to refine ideas.
- Design interactions and experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, discovery, and learning through play.
- Help shape guest journeys that balance open-ended play with intuitive guidance and memorable moments.
- Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions that bring multidisciplinary teams together around hands-on experimentation.
- Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, Play Agents, marketing, and operations teams to develop experiences that are both inspiring and practical to operate.
- Use guest insights and real-world testing to improve experiences and deepen guest engagement.
- Contribute to the design of physical environments, considering spatial layouts, guest flow, furniture placement, and how different elements work together to support play and interaction.
- Create visual concepts, layouts, and simple 3D models to communicate ideas and bring experience concepts to life.
Do You Have What It Takes?
We're looking for someone who combines creativity, guest focus, and hands-on experimentation with a solid understanding of play, experience design, and physical environments.
Additionally, you:
- Have experience designing and delivering physical, immersive, or interactive experiences.
- Are a skilled concept developer who can turn ideas into tangible experiences and environments.
- Enjoy sketching, prototyping, testing, and learning through making.
- Understand how storytelling can create meaningful and memorable guest experiences.
- Have an interest in spatial design and understand how room layouts, furniture, installations, and guest flow influence behaviour and engagement.
- Can communicate ideas visually through sketches, floorplans, mock-ups, or 3D visualisations.
- Have experience working with 3D design tools. Experience with SketchUp is considered a plus.
- Are curious about guest behaviour and enjoy designing with real people in mind.
- Have experience facilitating workshops and supporting creative collaboration.
- Thrive in multidisciplinary environments and enjoy working closely with others to develop ideas.
- Balance creativity with practical considerations such as accessibility, operations, durability, and guest safety.
- Believe in the power of play as a tool for learning, creativity, and human connection.
- Communicate ideas clearly and add curiosity, creativity, and momentum to your work.
Most importantly, you are driven to create experiences that inspire people to imagine, build, explore, and connect.
