As Senior Director, Global Sourcing & Procurement, you will architect and scale a world-class procurement function that powers tech transfers, new product introductions, and reliable cGMP/GxP-compliant supply for clients worldwide. Reporting to the SVP, Global Supply Chain, you will set the strategy, build the team, and deliver measurable enterprise value across quality, cost, speed, sustainability, and risk. We are a global CDMO in a strong growth and transformation phase, committed to advancing therapies with uncompromising quality, compliance, and reliability. Our culture values collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement—and we invest in leaders who build enduring capability.

What makes this role compelling

  • Build and scale: Design a fit-for-purpose global procurement operating model, processes, and governance that can scale across multiple sites and regions.
  • Enterprise impact: Drive supply assurance and total cost of ownership optimization for critical direct materials (single-use systems, media, resins, excipients, chemicals, packaging), improving margins, cash, and speed-to-supply.
  • Strategic seat at the table: Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, R&D, Finance, Legal, EHS, and Program Management to enable flawless tech transfers and NPIs.
  • Supplier ecosystem leadership: Shape a strategic supplier portfolio and SRM program, influencing allocation, innovation, lead times, and risk posture.
  • Sustainability and resilience: Lead Scope 3 and responsible sourcing initiatives, embed ESG and supplier diversity into category strategies, and strengthen continuity plans.
  • Transform through data: Leverage S2P/ERP platforms, eSourcing, and analytics to create transparency, standardize processes, and validate value realization.

What you’ll lead

  • Global sourcing & procurement strategy for direct materials, aligned to product lifecycles and demand plans
  • Cross-functional sourcing events (RFI/RFQ/RFP), complex negotiations, and award decisions through governance
  • A robust SRM program with performance scorecards, QBRs, and joint improvement roadmaps
  • End-to-end readiness for tech transfers, NPIs, and capacity expansions, including change control alignment
  • Procurement policy, SOPs, and internal controls aligned to cGMP/GxP, SOX, and audit readiness
  • A high-performing global team with clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans
  • A rolling 36+ month pipeline of cost and cash improvement initiatives
  • Risk and continuity frameworks (dual sourcing/qualification, safety stock, geo-diversification)
  • Integration of ESG and supplier diversity goals into category strategies
  • Continuous improvement and lean practices that elevate right-first-time and OTIF performance

Minimum education and experience requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • 12+ years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience, including 5+ years leading multi-site or regional/global teams
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/CDMO environments under cGMP/GxP, including supplier qualification, quality agreements, and regulatory expectations
  • Proven delivery of TCO savings, supply assurance, and working capital improvements across direct and indirect categories
  • Experience supporting tech transfer/NPI and managing CapEx sourcing in manufacturing settings
  • Strong negotiation and contracting skills (MSAs, supply agreements, QAAs/QTAs, confidentiality/IP)
  • Proficiency with Source-to-Pay platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle); strong spend analytics capability
  • Experience building or transforming procurement processes and teams in high-growth environments
  • Ability to travel globally as needed

Location and travel

  • Global/hybrid role; ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25–35%
  • Operate across time zones and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Why join

  • Lead a mission-critical function at enterprise scale with direct line-of-sight to client delivery, quality, and growth
