We are looking to strengthen our team at the newly established Cluster of Excellence EurAsian Transformations. The Cluster involves more than 30 researchers from four academic institutions (Austrian Academy of Sciences, University of Vienna, Central European University, and the University of Innsbruck). Major contemporary issues—including diversity, mobility, identity, and cultural interaction—are investigated through interdisciplinary research spanning numerous languages, regions, and historical periods.

Your personal sphere of influence:

To support the Cluster's digital research ecosystem, we are seeking a project staff member who will contribute to the coordination and further development of Digital Humanities activities, research data management, and digital research infrastructures across the Cluster. Working closely with the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities (ACDH), the successful candidate will contribute to the development of sustainable infrastructures, interoperable workflows, and shared standards that support both current research and the long-term strategic development of the Cluster.

Your future tasks:

You will actively contribute to the development of the Cluster's Digital Humanities environment by:

• coordinating Digital Humanities and research infrastructure activities across the Cluster;
• supporting the development of the Cluster's metacatalogue and related digital services;
• advising researchers on research data management, FAIR principles, metadata, and interoperability;
• facilitating collaboration between Cluster projects, the University of Vienna, and the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage (ACDH-CH);
• contributing to the development of shared standards, documentation, and sustainable digital workflows;
• organizing workshops, training activities, and consultation formats for researchers, doctoral candidates, and students;
• supporting the integration of Digital Humanities methods into teaching and training activities;
• contributing to the long-term strategic development of the Cluster's digital research ecosystem and to preparations for the second funding phase, particularly with regard to interoperability, sustainability, and the integration of heterogeneous forms of scholarly evidence.

This is part of your personality:

• Completed Master's degree in Digital Humanities or a relevant humanities discipline with a strong Digital Humanities component.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in research data management, digital research infrastructures, or Digital Humanities methods.
• Familiarity with FAIR principles, metadata standards, interoperability, and sustainable digital workflows.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
• Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
• Experience with semantic technologies, knowledge organization, ontologies, or Digital Humanities training activities is desirable.
