As part of the structures, we are looking for specialists in the field of international accounting & tax, human resources and payroll, and global entity management. We also build teams that will be responsible for handling international funds and supporting internal financial processes of the TMF Group.
Discover the Role The Tax Technology Specialist is a key member of the Tax Team, supporting the delivery of VAT-related compliance and reporting services through the effective use of tax technology, automation, and data-driven solutions. The role focuses on enabling accurate and efficient VAT processes by leveraging ERP systems, tax engines, workflow tools, and e-invoicing platforms.
This position executes structured tax technology tasks with increasing autonomy and progressively takes ownership of low-, medium-, and high-complexity VAT portfolios. The specialist contributes to the review of VAT data, supports system-driven process improvements, and ensures the accuracy, completeness, and readiness of technology-enabled VAT outputs.
In addition, the role supports troubleshooting of VAT data flows, maintains VAT logic within systems, and collaborates with senior team members on optimization initiatives. Flexibility to perform related technology and compliance tasks assigned by the manager is required to support evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities

- Support the preparation, validation, and timely system-driven delivery of accurate low-, medium-, and high-complexity VAT returns and VAT-related statutory reports, ensuring correct VAT logic, mappings, and data flows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, communicate, and resolve source-data issues, ensuring corrections and remedial actions are implemented within ERP or reporting tools
- Compile, extract, transform, and audit VAT-relevant datasets and reports using ERP systems, workflow tools, and tax technology solutions
- Independently navigate and analyse client ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) to retrieve VAT data, validate tax codes, review transaction flows, and support local offices with technical data requests
- Handle moderately complex technology, data, administrative, or user-support issues related to VAT processes, escalating advanced technical matters as needed
- Retrieve, structure, document, and maintain detailed VAT datasets extracted from ERP and tax technology systems to support compliance and analytics
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders globally, including local offices, IT teams, tax authorities, and clients
- Provide timely updates to supervisors regarding system issues, data delays, or risks impacting VAT reporting or automation
- Identify overdue tasks or bottlenecks using workflow systems; conduct root-cause analyses and document system or process issues requiring remediation
- Liaise with TMF offices, subcontractors, technology teams, and tax authorities on VAT-related technical or data topics
- Ensure adherence to internal and external VAT reporting deadlines by managing technology-enabled workflows and data extraction cycles
- Contribute VAT subject matter expertise to the creation and maintenance of tax calendars, VAT workflows, automation rules, and system configurations
- Participate in the preparation and technology-supported review of VAT tax packs, ensuring data completeness and accuracy
- Work with tax technology tools, reporting platforms, and databases to support proper configuration, maintenance, and documentation of VAT processes
- Act as a point of contact for assigned clients on VAT technology and data-related matters, ensuring professional, timely, and solution-oriented communication
- Perform additional VAT technology, data, or process-related tasks as assigned
Key Requirements
- Professional experience in preparing, validating, and supporting the submission of VAT returns, preferably using technology-enabled or ERP-based processes
- University degree (or ongoing studies) in accounting, finance, tax, information systems, data analytics, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in VAT operations, VAT compliance, or tax processes supported by ERP or tax technology solutions
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (e.g. data transformation, pivot tables, lookup functions, formula-based analysis)
- Practical experience with SAP (or similar ERP), particularly in VAT-relevant modules, tax code configuration, data extraction, and transaction flow validation
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in reviewing VAT data, identifying inconsistencies, and tracing issues to source systems
- Client-oriented approach, with experience supporting internal or external stakeholders on VAT or technology-related matters
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams (Tax, Finance, IT, Data)
- Ability to work in a multicultural, technology-driven environment, adapting to different systems, data structures, and regional VAT requirements
- Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn new technologies and improve VAT processes
