Experience Required
- Strong experience with previous hands-on structured cabling for technology Server/Racks environments.
- Basic electrical or electronic wiring experience also considered.
- Listens to others, confirming understanding of the content and recognizing non-verbal cues and underlying messages.
- Demonstrates a concern for accuracy and thoroughness so that sufficiently detailed information is logged correctly.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the processes for ordering, shipping and warehousing materials to support production and satisfy demand.
- Continuously seeks new ways of working to make processes run smoother and faster.
- Understands and assembles products according to technical documentation requirements and is able to ensure quality and functional standards are met.
- Actively controls and structures use of time to most effectively accomplish work, projects and goals
- Resolves issues by diagnosing problems, determining possible resolutions and implementing effective solutions

Production Technicians I perform tasks related to building and cabling racks as well as cabinets, or communication equipment. Basic installation of equipment in racking, demonstrating the ability to follow rack elevation and documentation for work completion. Ability to perform tasks with limited supervision or training. Will need to validate the physical and systematic processing of material while being able to record quality transactions representing work as well as physical audit of equipment and accessories. This position reports to a Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Primary focus on cabling Technology Servers
- Inspect and identify product for accuracy and defects
- Perform labelling based on customer requirements
- Knowledge on the proper use of basic manual and power tools
- Troubleshoot installation of hardware
- Route and manage basic copper, fiber cables, and AC/DC power runs where applicable
- Read and understand basic wiring diagrams and installation instructions
- Create and apply device and cable labels for a specific and limited amount of equipment
- Complete and submit basic paperwork (forms, checklists, etc.) according to company policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot basic, non-complex errors and perform quality audits
- Confirm hardware is functional & troubleshoot as pertain to work performed
- Execute work to customer-defined requirement
- Basic knowledge of AC and DC Power
