Revenue and Accounts Receivable Data Controller

What to Expect This is a newly created role within Tesla's Order-to-Cash (OTC) Accounting organization. It sits at the intersection of data, technology, and finance — not a traditional accounting close seat.

As Tesla's revenue operations scale, accountants and controllers need a dedicated partner who can own data infrastructure, build reliable automated processes, and improve efficiency so the accounting team can focus on judgement and control.

You will own the tools, pipelines, and processes that OTC Accounting depends on day to day and continuously improve them. You will work with Finance, Engineering, and other teams to reduce manual effort, build automation, and strengthen data quality.

Your work will directly affect how accurately and efficiently the books are closed. Tesla moves quickly and expects ownership: identifying a broken process and improving it is a core part of this job.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain reporting dashboards for OTC Accounting
• Lead OTC Accounting's transition to automated processes
• Own review and control of automated processes
• Build and execute monthly automated SOX controls and balance sheet specifications, in line with Tesla policies and financial procedures
• Own and maintain the OTC Data Hub
• Support projects that improve efficiency and help scale accounting processes
• Work with other functions to improve and automate processes that affect OTC Accounting

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Data, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A Master's degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
• Experience working with large datasets and automating processes
• Experience with automation tools, and an interest in applying AI to finance processes
• Strong analytical and modelling skills in Excel, plus experience with one or more of Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python
• A structured, problem-solving approach to complex operational issues
• Professional written and spoken English, including the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders
