Lead BI Developer

Role description

UST Global is looking for a Lead Business Intelligence Developer to drive enterprise reporting transformation initiatives and modernize analytics platforms for a global organization.

This role combines hands-on Power BI development, data modeling, architecture, and technical leadership. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and senior leadership to design scalable reporting solutions, establish BI standards, and lead large-scale migrations from legacy reporting platforms to modern Power BI-based analytics.

**Location:**Poland, remote Working hours: overlap with US teams (approx. 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM CET/CEST)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of enterprise Power BI solutions
• Define and implement semantic model, dimensional modeling, and reporting architecture standards
• Design scalable data models, reporting views, and semantic layers
• Drive migration of legacy reporting solutions (SSRS, SSAS, Excel-based reporting) into Power BI
• Optimize Snowflake queries and reporting performance
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions
• Establish governance, security, deployment, and CI/CD best practices
• Mentor BI developers and provide technical leadership across reporting initiatives
• Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement across BI processes

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of Business Intelligence / Data Analytics experience
• Strong expertise in Power BI development and architecture
• Advanced DAX and Power Query (M)
• Strong SQL and Snowflake experience
• Deep understanding of dimensional modeling and Kimball methodology
• Experience with semantic models, star schemas, and enterprise reporting architectures
• Experience with Power BI governance, gateways, deployment pipelines, and security models
• Experience leading reporting modernization and migration projects
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills
• Previous experience leading small teams or mentoring developers
