Senior Java Backend Developer

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Java applications supporting savings and investment products
Build and enhance calculation engines ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple countries
Develop solutions supporting complex business processes, tax authority integrations, and customer-facing reporting
Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deployment
Collaborate with financial analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Mentor developers and act as a code reviewer and design sparring partner
Promote practical engineering practices across the development team
Use AI-assisted development and automation responsibly to improve productivity, quality, and learning
Contribute strong collaboration and analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges

Requirements:

Strong experience in Java 21 and Java-based application development
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks
Proven experience with relational databases and PostgreSQL SQL
Practical experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, MQ, or similar protocols
Strong proficiency in Java frameworks including Spring and Hibernate
Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming data
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Very good command of English, both spoken and written
