Electrical Engineer
Barge Master B.V. · Rotterdam, Netherlands
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
At Barge Master, you'll be part of a hands-on engineering team developing advanced offshore motion compensation systems for clients around the world. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing the power and battery systems that keep our machines operating safely and efficiently.
Your work will focus on the design and integration of electrical power systems, taking into account vessel requirements, technical specifications, safety standards, project budgets, and lead times. You'll work closely with suppliers and contractors to review and optimise electrical designs and diagrams, ensuring they meet both technical and practical requirements.
Throughout the engineering and build process, you'll maintain direct contact with contractors and support the successful implementation of your designs. Working alongside mechanical, hydraulic and software engineers, you'll contribute to fully integrated solutions that perform reliably in demanding offshore environments.
Because our electrical and hydraulic drive systems work closely together, knowledge of hydraulic power systems is a strong advantage. This role offers plenty of variety and collaboration across disciplines, giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact on the performance and functionality of the final equipment.
Your profile
- A degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- At least 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with the design of power systems, preferably vessel power systems
- Experience with battery design is an advantage
- Knowledge/experience of hydraulic power systems is an advantage
- Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and contractors
- Full command of the English language (both written and verbal)
