Do you want to design innovative battery production systems as an Automation Engineer at VDL Mobility Innovation Centre? Then read on! Your role:
VDL Mobility Innovation Centre (VDL MIC) is a battery manufacturer for, among others, a major OEM in the automotive industry. Within VDL Group, there are various applications that use battery systems. The next step for VDL MIC is to engineer applications based on customer specifications and to realize and industrialize these products and production processes ourselves. From A to Z, from prototype to series production. We are looking for people who want to pioneer with us in this business. The engineering team will focus on two areas: product and process (co)development. A team of 7 multidisciplinary engineers will work closely together to achieve this, each with their own expertise in a specific field. Are you ready to take on this challenge?
As an Automation Engineer within this Engineering team, your responsibilities include:
- Designing battery production systems that meet the specified functional requirements and comply with all applicable regulations.
- Automation design of production lines for battery systems, including software and PLC.
- Ensuring that the automation works as designed, demonstrated through functional tests and test runs.
- Taking actions to achieve more standardization and simplifications in design.
- Providing support to the engineering and production team.
- Coordinating and programming the commissioning of automation.
- Implementing improvements and new functionalities in the current production lines.
Your strength
- Preferably a Master's degree (or Bachelor's degree supplemented with relevant work experience in battery development) in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering.
- Experience in engineering roles (internship experience is also relevant).
- Experience with automation engineering (PLC programming, robotics, SCADA) and knowledge.
- Experience in Siemens TIA-portal.
- Automation and programming projects from requirement to physical installation. Showing some reference projects is a pre.
- Demonstrable analytical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to translate analysis into solutions and implementation with corresponding planning.
