University West seeks a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management

Logistics and Operations Management is a strategic area within University West’s initiative to develop an internationally competitive research and education environment in Industrial Engineering and Management. The position offers excellent opportunities to develop research, education, and collaboration together with colleagues and industry partners in a field of great relevance to society and business.Duties

As a Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to the development of the research group Logistics and Operations Management and to education at first- and second-cycle level, particularly within the Bachelor of Science in Engineering programme in Industrial Engineering and Management and the international Master's programme in Logistics and Operations Management. The position includes:* Conducting research in close collaboration with industry.

• Initiating and leading research projects.
• Developing and teaching courses at first- and second-cycle level.
• Supervising degree projects and doctoral students.
• Participating in commissioned education and competence development activities for professionals.
• Contributing to the development of University West’s collaboration profile through Work Integrated Learning (WIL). Eligibility requirements for employment as Senior Lecturer

• Demonstrated Teaching proficiency (Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100)). Applicants who lack teaching qualifications from an academic environment must possess competence equivalent to the university’s eligibility requirements, although such competence may have been acquired outside academia.
• Completion of Higher education teacher training of at least ten weeks, or equivalent competence. If such training has not been completed, employment may nevertheless be granted provided that the employee completes the training during the first two years of employment.
• A doctoral degree or equivalent Academic expertise, or other professional skills of relevance considering the subject content and duties associated with the position (Chapter 4, Section 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100).

In addition, the following qualifications are required:

• A doctoral degree in Logistics or a related subject area.
• Experience of research or advanced development work within the field of logistics.
• Good ability to collaborate with industry and/or the public sector.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Meritorious qualifications

The following will be considered advantageous:* Good oral and written communication skills in Swedish.

• Experience of project management and working with external research funding.
• Experience of collaborative research conducted jointly with industry and/or the public sector. Basis of assessment

This is a permanent position. A six-month probationary period may be applied. The recruitment process may include trial lectures, work samples, interviews, and reference checks.
