Your role:
In this role, you have the opportunity to contribute to a company that leads in sustainability
with ambitious targets for nature, materials and climate.
We are looking for an intern that is interested in participating in a corporate, high-performing
sustainability team. The field of Sustainability and ESG is developing constantly. New reporting
standards, scientific insights, working groups, best practices and initiatives emerge in a rapid pace.
If you want to use and develop your analytic skills, knowledge about sustainability and ability to
organize an implement while contributing to a program that focusses on reducing the environmental footprint of our products, evaluates and assesses nature related risks and opportunities, enhances biodiversity and ecosystem services, this internship might be for you!

You are responsible for
- Provide daily support to ongoing global programs and cross functional activities (Nature,
- Circular Economy, Eco-design, Climate and/or Sustainable Supply Chain ). Improvement and automation of sustainability processes, specifically related to performance management
- Conduct research to various reporting standards and guidelines, for example in the fields of biodiversity, water, chemical pollution and environmental footprint of our products.
- Prepare the external report on Philips interdependencies with nature (TNFD).
- Maintain knowledge base and sustainability trainings for Philips employees for circular economy, ecodesign, climate resilience and/or nature.
- Drive Nature-based Solutions and climate change resilience in manufacturing sites.
You’re the right fit, if;
- Studying towards your Master degree in a relevant field like Environmental Sciences, or Engineering/Business/Economics.
- Strong affinity with Sustainability, and knowledge about the Sustainability sector
- Structured, pro-active and independent working attitude.
- Analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
- Experience with AI and workflow automation (experience with ChatGPT-Codex and
- MS PowerAutomate is a preference).
- Excellent English verbal and written skills
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
We offer you:
A non-stop growth opportunity within a global multinational company. In addition, we also want to renumerate you well for the opportunity. This includes:
- Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on your education level and if you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro-rata.
- Housing compensation. Should you need to relocate to near our office, we’ll offer you a monthly allowance of €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. To be eligible, we’ll just ask for the rental contract from your landlord, and your usual home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time (for a one way trip).
- Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net as a monthly allowance.
- Paid holidays per internship term.
- The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.
