About the role Utopia operates across multiple entities and jurisdictions, and we're looking for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of financial controlling from the ground up. As Financial Controller, you'll build financial processes on the new projects, ensure the accuracy of accounting operations, and own timely reporting and financial controls across the business.

Responsibilities* Oversee and manage accounting operations for several Utopia entities across different jurisdictions.

• Build financial controlling processes from scratch where none currently exist, and refine them as the business grows.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve internal financial control procedures.
• Own monthly financial reporting across entities.
• Manage and support external audits end-to-end.
• Respond promptly to finance-related questions and requests from the CEO and Head of Finance.
• Manage external consultants and legal advisors to keep filings and controls on track.

Requirements* 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or treasury, including IFRS.

• Big 4 experience highly preferred.
• Proven, hands-on experience building financial controlling processes from the ground up — not just maintaining existing ones.
• Deep technical knowledge of accounting principles, beyond operational execution.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fast learner, comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment.
• Able to manage external consultants and legal advisors effectively.
• Fluent English.

Nice to Have:

• ACCA (professional level papers completed or near-completed).
• Russian — upper-intermediate or higher.
