Senior Risk and Control Officer for Business Risk Frameworks

Are you an experienced professional with a strong interest in risk and controls management, and operational excellence? Business Control & Product Management (BCPM) is seeking a Risk and Control Officer to join our Business Risk Framework team. Our risk framework team plays a vital role in supporting the first line of defence, driving continuous improvement, and shaping the future of risk management in an evolving technological landscape.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional who will be supporting and collaborating closely across Danske Bank’s Business units. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing risk frameworks, tools, ways of working and strengthening controls to ensure effective risk management across the first line of defence. This includes integrating cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) into risk management practices and equipping the wider BCPM with the tools and training necessary for success.

As part of a 1st line of defence risk management function, you will be responsible for supporting the business ensuring a sound risk management and an open, consistent, and proactive risk culture. Key skills to enable this are good stakeholder management and a proactive mindset.

What you will be doing

• Develop, maintain, and enhance risk management frameworks, tools and support solutions, ensuring they meet business, regulatory and governance needs
• Contribute to shaping and delivering the BRF team and Controls Office strategy, driving simplification, consistency and efficient ways of working
• Contribute and coordinate the business adoption and integration of AI procedure, automation and the Risk Management Universe, into first line risk management practices, working with the project team and business stakeholders to ensure effective implementation
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Group to ensure alignment with risk management strategies, frameworks and emerging business needs
• Provide practical risk advisory and guidance, promoting risk awareness and a strong risk culture through effective stakeholder engagement
• Contribute to the development and improvement of frameworks & governance, tools, processes and working methods that enhance team effectiveness and support evolving business requirements
• Support the development and delivery of training, guidance and knowledge-sharing initiatives for BCPM
• Contribute to new initiatives and evolving responsibilities aligned with the future direction and priorities of the BRF team.

About you:

• Deep understanding (a minimum of 5 years) of first line risk management practices, frameworks, and tools
• Understanding of Products and Product lifecycle management would be beneficial
• Interest in AI, including its integration into risk management processes and its implications for business transformation
• Strong analytical skills, project management skills, structured approach to problem-solving and a strong focus on execution, with high attention to detail
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to positively engage stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
• Ability to plan and complete assignments independently, and ability to work on multiple tasks a
• A continuous improvement mindset, constantly seeking ways to optimise processes and enhance operational efficiency
• High integrity and a strong work ethic, with strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English
