Xu Noodle Bar is a family owned business in the city Eindhoven and Tilburg. We offer a variety of Asian dishes. From homemade noodle soups, fried noodles, rice dishes to streetfood like dumplings.
A workday as Shift Leader during the week (Wednesday - Friday)
16:00 - Coming in 5 minutes before your shift to put all your stuff in the wardrobe, doing a quick pee and put on your work-shirt. Then you start preparing everything in the restaurant. You are responsible for the supplies that are coming in and know how to organize it all into the right place. You like a tidy and neat workplace so you also vacuum, do the laundry (aprons/towels etc), tidy up the storage and clean it if necessary.
Is it time to open the restaurant? Put your best smile on and LET'S GET IT!
17:00 - The customers are slowly coming in. While you are busy packing in some take-away orders, you welcome them and help them.
18:15 - RUSH HOUR INCOMING! You stay calm and know how to handle the many customers. Also special requests from sometimes very demanding customers will not knock you down. During stress you still communicate with others so everything will go smoothly in the restaurant. You know how to keep your head cool and keep the overview!
20:30 - Time to tidy up a little and clean!
20:30/21:00 - Last round is done! LET'S CLEAN THIS SH*T! As a team you do everything on the closing checklist and double check each other if everything is done correctly. Also writing down the task list what needs to be done for tomorrow. Check if homemade drinks need to be made for tomorrow or if something needs to be restocked.
And a double check if all the machines are out, the lights are out and all the doors locked.
21:15-22:00 - READY! Nailed it as a team and tomorrow is another day!
What kind of super power do you need?
Well, first you should be able to handle the stress when it's getting busy in the evening. Secondly, multitasking should be easy for you: welcoming customers, packing in orders, bringing food/drinks and also know which table is new and hasn't ordered yet.
What are we also looking for:
- Have fun while working under stress (it's not always easy)
- Be alert when there is a special request or allergic requirement asked
- Love to work in a structured and tidy environment
- Fixed days for restaurant opening. For example 2 days during the week and 1 long shift in the weekend.
- Feeling responsible at work
- Not afraid to give feedback to colleagues
