Scientist, Analytical Development

Position Description

· Responsible for supporting chemical development projects with appropriate analytical method development (HPLC, UPLC, GC-MS, GC-FID, LC-MS)

· Act as the system owner for local analytical infrastructure (non-GMP), maintain equipment and coordinate with service providers

· Experience with additional analytical techniques (XRPD, XRF, KF, NMR, DSC, etc.) is a plus

· Continuing optimizing the analytical system to improve the analytical related workflow

· Documents their experimental work at a high standard and in compliance with set expectations

· Maintains a safe and tidy work environment in their own work area, complies with all Health and Safety rules and expectations

· Reports to Senior Leadership of the Analytical Department

Qualifications

• Technical skills

- Hands-on experience with chromatography (HPLC/UPLC and GC)

- Experience with LC-MS/GC-MS is a plus

- Practical experience with equipment trouble shooting and equipment maintenance (Agilent maintenance experience is a plus)

- Hands-on experience with chromatography data systems (e.g. Agilent OpenLab CDS)

- Knowledge of analytical method development and validation

- Openness to learning about new techniques

- Problem-solving: able to find solutions to problems related to analytical challenges, know when to involve external experts

- Ownership: owns their area of responsibilities, independently and proactively organizes ways of working to suit team goals

• Experience

- MSc with 2+ years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry

- Fluent English (written and spoken), German knowledge is a plus

- Experience in synthetic chemistry support role is a plus
