Job Description

We are looking for an experienced consultant who can help us with the migration of data between different eCAD environments.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and carry out migration of design data from OrCAD/PADS to Altium
• Migrate projects, libraries, and associated metadata between different Altium Workspaces
• Ensure that component data, symbols, footprints, and manufacturing information are transferred with the desired expected outcome
• Define and implement best practices for library management in Altium
• Support the organization with recommendations regarding structure, governance, and future management of component data
• Document the migration process, risks, and recommended ways of working

Competence/Experience – Mandatory

• Documented experience working in Altium Designer and Altium 365 Workspace

• Experience of migration from OrCAD and/or PADS to Altium

• Experience of migration between different Altium Workspaces and library environments

• Good understanding of the structure and management of:

• Schematics

• PCB layout

• Component libraries

• Design rules and project structures

• Competence in component databases for electronics and hardware development

• Experience of setup, migration, and quality assurance of:

• Component libraries

• Lifecycle management

• Supplier and manufacturing data

• Good understanding of the relationship between development, purchasing, and manufacturing

• Experience of ensuring traceability and data quality during migration

Competence/Experience – Optional

• Experience of PLM, ERP, or component management systems
• Knowledge of IPC standards and DFM/DFA processes
• Experience from product development within electronics manufacturing
