Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to support the day-to-day operation of our fulfilment centre in Venlo. This role is primarily warehouse-floor based and is ideally suited to an individual who enjoys leading by example.
The successful candidate will work alongside the warehouse team, taking responsibility for the smooth execution of goods-in, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns processing activities.
The Warehouse Team Leader will be the most senior operational employee on site and will act as the first point of contact for daily warehouse activities.
Strategic planning, customer management, commercial decisions and overall operational leadership will be provided by the UK-based Global Warehouse Operations Manager and senior leadership team.
The Warehouse Team Leader will play a critical role in maintaining operational standards, ensuring service excellence and creating a positive, productive warehouse environment.
English Language Requirement
This position operates within an English-speaking business environment.The successful candidate will work closely with UK-based management and support teams on a daily basis. Operational procedures, warehouse systems, business communications, reporting requirements and management meetings are conducted primarily in English.
A high standard of spoken and written English is therefore an essential requirement of the role.
Whilst Dutch language skills are advantageous, applicants must be confident communicating professionally in English with colleagues and management teams across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Lead and participate in all day-to-day warehouse activities.
- Perform picking, packing and dispatch activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Oversee and perform goods-in operations, ensuring stock is received, checked and booked into inventory correctly.
- Process customer returns in accordance with company procedures.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate stock discrepancies.
- Ensure warehouse locations and stock are maintained in an organised and efficient manner.
- Support cycle counts and stock audits.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
- Assist in identifying process improvements that increase accuracy, productivity and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership
- Provide daily supervision and support to warehouse operatives.
- Lead by example through personal performance, attendance and conduct.
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress throughout the shift.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
- Promote a positive, safe and productive working environment.
- Encourage adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Escalate performance, conduct or staffing concerns to the Operations Manager.
Communication & Collaboration
- Act as the primary on-site operational contact within the Netherlands facility.
- Maintain regular communication with the UK-based management team.
- Participate in operational meetings, reviews and business updates conducted in English.
- Report operational issues, stock concerns, customer requirements and service risks promptly.
- Support the implementation of operational procedures and business initiatives introduced by the wider leadership team.
- Ensure accurate completion of operational reports and system updates.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out safely and responsibly.
- Promote compliance with company health and safety procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment.
- Support compliance with local regulations and company standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within a warehouse, fulfilment, logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a small operational team.
- Demonstrable hands-on warehouse operational experience.
- Strong understanding of picking, packing, dispatch and inventory processes.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Ability to communicate confidently and professionally in English on a daily basis.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Competent IT skills, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining strong communication with remote management teams.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience within an eCommerce fulfilment or third-party logistics (3PL) business.
- Experience using warehouse management systems.
- Forklift or MHE certification.
- Knowledge of inventory control and stock auditing processes.
- Dutch language skills.
