About the Opportunity
We are looking for an expert-level Technical IT Project Manager with strong hands-on production support and infrastructure knowledge.
This is a hybrid technical and management position in which approximately 75% of the responsibilities involve Level 3 production support, while 25% focus on technical project management. You will coordinate infrastructure initiatives, implement architecture solutions for business applications and prepare their transition into production.
You will work directly with business project managers, production teams, application support teams and infrastructure specialists in an international financial-services environment.
The organisation is currently transforming its working methods through DevOps, Agile practices and cloud adoption. Therefore, the successful candidate must combine end-to-end project leadership with the technical expertise required to perform advanced infrastructure and production activities.
Main Responsibilities
Level 3 Production Support
- Provide Level 3 support for business-critical applications and infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve complex production incidents.
- Maintain the stability, availability, performance and resilience of production environments.
- Work with infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networks and middleware.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of applications in production.
- Analyse monitoring and observability data using tools such as Dynatrace.
- Coordinate with application support, development and infrastructure teams.
- Define and validate production-support SLAs and KPIs.
- Ensure that Run-the-Bank and application support teams have the knowledge and autonomy required to maintain operational conditions.
- Participate in out-of-hours or weekend production activities when required by project criticality.
Technical Project Management
- Take end-to-end responsibility for delivering IT projects according to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate all project participants, technical contributors and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned IT projects.
- Translate business needs into technical and infrastructure requirements.
- Implement technical architecture solutions to host business applications.
- Prepare and coordinate the transition of applications and infrastructure into production.
- Ensure that projects comply with organisational standards, architecture principles and governance processes.
- Plan and lead Business Validation Committees, Monitoring Committees and Steering Committees.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation and effort measured in person-days.
- Produce regular project reports for application production and development management.
- Identify, assess and mitigate technical, operational, financial and delivery risks.
- Coordinate internal teams, external suppliers and international stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate treatment of infrastructure and application obsolescence.
- Plan application and infrastructure decommissioning activities.
- Ensure technical and application resilience requirements are implemented.
- Identify synergies, shared scopes and optimisation opportunities across projects.
Cloud, DevOps and Transformation
- Support the adoption of cloud, DevOps and Agile working practices.
- Ensure cloud solutions meet cost, scalability, security and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with FinOps, decommissioning, obsolescence and security teams.
- Coordinate development, QA, production and operations activities.
- Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernisation and Move-to-Cloud initiatives.
- Ensure new solutions are aligned with production-readiness and operational-support requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
- Expert-level experience in technical IT project management and production support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Level 3 application or infrastructure support.
- Ability to manage IT projects from initiation through production transition.
- Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, operational processes and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources and deliverable quality.
- Ability to establish and apply appropriate project methodologies.
- Experience anticipating and managing project risks.
- Ability to understand business needs and translate them into IT requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools, preferably Dynatrace.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure Pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

The Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced technical project leader who remains comfortable working directly with production environments.
You can manage the scope, schedule, budget, governance and risks of complex infrastructure projects while also investigating Level 3 incidents, discussing Linux and middleware configurations and coordinating cloud, Kubernetes or CI/CD activities.
You understand how to move applications safely into production and ensure that support teams receive the documentation, knowledge and operational processes required to maintain them.
You are particularly well suited to this opportunity if you have worked in an international banking environment, managed critical infrastructure projects and supported transformation initiatives involving cloud, DevOps, Agile practices, automation and observability.
