In the course of its strong growth, the Hasso Plattner Institute is offering a
PhD position (f/m/x) - High-Assurance Systems
The position is full time and fixed-term for a period of 3 years.
Cybersecurity has become more and more important in our modern life where data is stored and transmitted electronically. The research group Cybersecurity - High-Assurance Systems, led by Prof. Dr. Chitchanok Chuengsatiansup, investigates mechanisms to safeguard our digital information with the focus on cryptographic engineering, side-channel analysis, implementation optimization, and post-quantum cryptography.
Your future tasks
- Conduct theoretical and practical scientific work, including publication of research articles in the field of cybersecurity with a specific emphasis on cryptography, side-channel analysis, efficient implementation, high-assurance software and related areas
- Present research findings to various groups of audience
- Support teaching and assessment of students’ work
- Supervise research projects and mentor students
- Participate in relevant training and networking events, including research seminars and team building activities
Your skills
Required
- A master’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Strong background and practical experience in one or more of the following field: cryptography, side-channel analysis, efficient implementation, high-assurance software.
- Solid communication and dissemination skills
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Desired
- Ability to work independently as well as in a diverse team
- Good scientific publication record in cybersecurity-related areas
- Teaching experience in cybersecurity-related subjects
