Frankfurt am Main
Your career at Deutsche Börse Group
Your area of work:
The launch D7 platform has been the starting point of Clearstream’s digital strategy, covering both domestic and international issuance markets. Following that success, we are continuing building the very first European Digital CSD by connecting our existing and traditional market infrastructure with our DLT tokenization platform, allowing to boost volumes, processing efficiency and to open up new business opportunities beyond the traditional CSD business, targeting the full value chain of digital and tokenized securities
As the DLT Solution Architect, you will be the technical strategist within our growing team of DLT and digital asset experts in Europe and Asia, owning the macro-level system architecture.
You will be responsible for defining how our DLT applications scale and how they securely integrate into Clearstream’s enterprise systems and legacy infrastructure. You will work in close alignment with the DLT Design Lead, translating high-level business and functional requirements into structured, component-level architectures. You will clearly explain these architectural requirements to the engineering team and review their implementation to ensure that designed components comply with the overall architecture and industry best practices. Together with the DLT Design Lead, Product Managers, Enterprise Architects, and Security teams, you will turn our digital asset vision into a secure, highly resilient, production-grade reality.
Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to End-to-End Architecture: Lead the architectural blueprinting of our DLT/Tokenization platform, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and strict alignment with Clearstream's enterprise IT standards
- Bridge Web3 & Enterprise IT: Architect secure, low-latency, and resilient integration patterns between decentralized networks (on-chain) and traditional core CSD legacy systems (off-chain)
- Technical Steering & Governance: Author and govern Technical Architecture Documents (TADs) and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and contribute directly to the definition and maintenance of the Software Design Documents (SDDs) Represent the DLT team in Architecture Review Meetings
- Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for our developers and system engineers, breaking down high-level business requirements into actionable architectural epics, and ensuring the development team adheres to the defined architecture and design patterns
Your profile:
- 8+ years of professional experience in IT architecture and software engineering, with at least 3+ years specifically architecting enterprise DLT/Blockchain solutions in production
- Strong Enterprise Background: Deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns, microservices architectures, event-driven architectures (specifically Apache Kafka), and hybrid-cloud deployments
- DLT Architecture Expertise: Proven track record of architecting decentralized networks, including node topology, consensus mechanisms, and network security
- Proven experience in API design and event-driven architecture, including defining schemas, API versioning, Camunda flows, and event-publishing models using enterprise-grade streaming platforms (specifically Kafka)
- Strong understanding of hybrid on-chain/off-chain integration mechanisms, including design patterns for decentralized trust, data replication, and high-performance read/write oracle architectures
- Analytical & Decisive: Exceptional ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs (e.g., public vs. private blockchains, throughput vs. decentralization, gas optimization vs. complexity) and document them via structured ADRs
- Collaborative Communicator: Outstanding ability to translate highly technical DLT and cryptographic concepts to executive stakeholders and traditional enterprise architects, while also being able to deep-dive into code and infrastructure with developers
- Academic Background: University degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
- Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in German, French, Luxembourgish, or Czech is a plus
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with enterprise DLT frameworks (e.g Hyperledger Besu..) or public Ethereum-Virtual-Machine (EVM) compatible networks
- Familiarity with financial market infrastructure regulations (e.g., CSDR, MiCA, DLT Pilot Regime, or the German eWpG)
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift), IaC (Terraform), and secure CI/CD pipelines in AWS or Azure
