The Exacom Logging Recorder team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ cloud-native logging platforms, real-time voice and radio recording engines, and AI-assisted analytics software leveraged in public safety, defense, and critical infrastructure applications worldwide. Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional Agile software development team responsible for delivering enterprise multimedia solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with exceptional people management skills, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. This individual will work closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and senior leadership to ensure successful delivery of high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional Agile engineering team
- Manage project execution, sprint planning, resource allocation, and delivery commitments
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Partner with Product Management to prioritize work and align engineering efforts with business objectives
- Remove roadblocks and enable the team to deliver predictable, high-quality software
- Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, architectural discussions, CI/CD, and DevOps initiatives
- Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and coaching
- Collaborate with QA to ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle
- Monitor engineering metrics and continuously improve team effectiveness
Basic Requirements
Reuired:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years leading engineering teams in an Agile environment
- Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
- Experience managing Scrum teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Experience balancing technical debt, feature delivery, and operational excellence
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teams Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience leading enterprise SaaS or cloud-native applications
- Familiarity with multimedia technologies, VoIP, SIP, RoIP, or public safety applications
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
