Sr Product Specialist– Microbiology,
Location: North / South Germany, Switzerland or Austria
Reports to: Europe Sales Director

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Sales Specialist to drive growth of our Microbiology portfolio across Germany, Switzerland and Austria, with a particular focus on molecular testing solutions within the Food & Beverage market.
This is a 100% field sales-focused role, responsible for developing existing accounts, winning new business and building strong customer relationships across Industrial Food & Water testing.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and achieve or exceed territory sales targets and AOP objectives.
Develop and execute a robust business plan for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Lead growth of the molecular microbiology portfolio, with particular focus on qPCR technologies and molecular workflows.
Promote solutions for the detection and identification of foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms.
Develop new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key and national accounts.
Understand customer analytical and operational requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
Support customers in navigating relevant European/local regulations and international ISO standards.
Work closely with Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Product Management, Marketing and Field Application Specialists.
Analyse market trends, customer applications, competitive activity and growth opportunities.
Develop short-, medium- and long-term territory and account plans.
Deliver consultative and strategic sales presentations across the Microbiology portfolio.
Manage pricing, quotations, tenders, negotiations and commercial agreements.
Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline and customer activity within Salesforce.com.
Provide market and competitive feedback to support commercial and portfolio strategy.
Maintain profitability while delivering an excellent customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or a related scientific field.
1–5 years of commercial/sales experience, ideally within microbiology, molecular biology or a related technology area.
Experience or knowledge of microbiology products and applications.
Knowledge of molecular biology and/or qPCR technologies is highly advantageous.
Experience within Food & Beverage, Industrial Microbiology and/or Food & Water testing is advantageous.
Proven sales performance with strong commercial and business acumen.
Strong customer relationship management and consultative selling skills.
Excellent negotiation, tendering, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and business functions.
Strong planning, forecasting and execution capabilities.
Results-driven, self-motivated and comfortable working with a high level of autonomy.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Additional Requirements
Must be based in Germany, Switzerland or Austria.
Full, clean driving licence.
Willingness to travel at least 60% across the DACH territory, with occasional longer periods of business travel.
