Hello. We’re Polaroid. An iconic brand, built by passionate people
Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the 20th century’s most influential innovators, Edwin Land, whose philosophy was: “Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.”
In 2008, Polaroid produced its last pack of instant film. But a group of passionate fans refused to let instant photography disappear. What started as The Impossible Project grew into a mission to preserve and reinvent analogue photography for a new generation. More than a decade later, that same startup acquired the Polaroid brand and continues to shape its future today.
At Polaroid, we create products and experiences that spark emotion, fuel creativity, and bring people closer together. At the intersection of art and technology, we believe in the power of analogue moments and genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world.
The role
As Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial, you will become part of an experienced international Legal Team working from Polaroid’s global headquarters in Amsterdam.
You will provide practical, high-quality legal support across the Polaroid group, with a particular focus on corporate and governance matters and international commercial contracts.
You will work closely with colleagues across the organization and advise stakeholders at different levels and in different jurisdictions. You will be expected to understand the business behind the legal question, identify relevant risks and help find solutions that are legally sound and commercially workable.
Your responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including agreements with suppliers, distributors, customers, service providers, strategic partners and other third parties;
- Advise the business on legal matters related to corporate, commercial, employment, procurement, R&D, product and supply chain;
- Coordinate corporate governance activities across the international Polaroid group, including preparation of board resolutions, corporate records, and legal documentation;
- Support international projects, transactions and disputes and coordinate with external counsels where appropriate;
- Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, and internal procedures;
- Deliver legal training and awareness programs to employees when required.
What we are looking for:
You are a pragmatic and commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business. You combine strong legal skills with a practical approach and are comfortable taking ownership of matters from start to finish.
You have:
- a Master’s degree in Dutch law
- 3-5 years of legal experience, gained at a reputable law firm, in-house legal department or a combination of both;
- Experience advising on corporate and commercial law matters.
- Strong contract drafting, reviewing and negotiating skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills, with the ability to communicate legal advice clearly in a commercial context.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership, while being a genuine team player;
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
Your way of working
You enjoy being close to the business and working together with colleagues rather than operating at a distance. You are approachable, reliable and comfortable dealing with different personalities, cultures and levels of seniority.
You know when a legal issue requires careful analysis, but also when a practical solution is what the business needs. You are curious, hands-on and precise, and you take pride in delivering work that is both legally robust and useful in practice.
Our Approach to AI
At Polaroid we believe two things can be true at once: technology can help us move forward, while human creativity, craft, judgement and real-world connection matter more than ever.
Since our beginning, we've embraced technology to create meaningful human experiences. Today that means exploring new tools, including AI, with curiosity and care, using them where they help us work better and build a stronger business, while staying true to what defines our brand.
AI in Our Hiring Process
Polaroid may use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies, including natural language processing and predictive analytics, to assist in the initial screening of employment applications. These AI/ML tools assess applications against the characteristics and qualifications relevant to the job requisition.
These tools are designed to help identify potentially qualified candidates, but they do not make automated hiring decisions. The AI/ML-generated assessments are one of several factors considered in the hiring process. Our human recruiters thoroughly evaluate your skills and qualifications to determine your suitability for the role.
If you prefer not to have your application assessed using AI/ML features, you may opt out by contacting us at privacy@polaroid.com or by following the instructions provided during the application process. Opting out will not negatively impact your application, which will be reviewed manually by our team.
