Product Development Chemist

We are looking for a Product Development Chemist to support the development of innovative disinfectants and detergent solutions. In this role, you will transform early-stage concepts into robust, scalable products that deliver value to customers worldwide.

This is a hands-on position for a chemist who enjoys experimentation, takes ownership of projects, and wants to remain closely connected to the laboratory while contributing to innovation and business decisions.

What You'll Do

Formulation Development & Technical Leadership

• Lead the technical development of new formulations from concept through commercialization
• Design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments independently
• Optimize product performance through systematic testing and scientific analysis
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and develop practical solutions
• Generate reliable data to support key project decisions

Innovation & Product Development

• Explore new technologies, ingredients, and formulation approaches
• Support innovation projects focused on cleaning and hygiene solutions
• Review technical literature and emerging technologies
• Contribute to intellectual property and patent-related activities where relevant

Project & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Innovation teams
• Present technical findings and recommendations to project stakeholders
• Communicate risks, opportunities, and development progress clearly
• Support successful product launches and commercialization activities

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
• 7+ years of progressive experience in formulation chemistry, preferably within Institutional Cleaning and Hygiene or adjacent industries
• Strong understanding of formulation chemistry and raw material functionality
• Proven ability to independently design and execute experiments
• Strong laboratory skills and a hands-on mindset
• Ability to lead technical workstreams within cross-functional projects
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of biocides, disinfectants, or regulatory frameworks such as BPR or EPA
• Experience with Design for Six Sigma methodologies
