Remote AI/Robotics Data Contributor — Flexible Paid Missions
EgoVista is looking for Europe-based contributors to help build privacy-first egocentric video datasets for robotics and embodied AI. Just register here to start https://www.egovista.app/signup.
As a remote contributor, you can work completely from your home and your role is to record short first-person videos of everyday activities from your own point of view. These videos help robotics and AI teams understand how humans naturally interact with objects, tools, rooms, and daily environments.
Examples of useful activities include cooking, cleaning, organizing objects, folding clothes, opening drawers, preparing a table, handling kitchen tools, arranging items on a desk, picking up and placing objects, and other simple real-world tasks.
The recordings should show natural human actions from a first-person perspective. This means the camera should capture what you see while performing the task, especially your hands, the objects involved, and the surrounding workspace.
You can record using:
- a smartphone;
- a GoPro or similar action camera;
- smart glasses;
- another suitable camera device, as long as the video quality is good.
For smartphone recordings, the ideal setup is to use a head mount allows the camera to record from a first-person point of view while keeping your hands free. Handheld recordings may be accepted only when they clearly show the task and remain stable.
Recommended video requirements:
- first-person / POV perspective;
- good lighting;
- stable camera;
- clear view of hands and manipulated objects;
- minimum 1080p resolution where possible;
- 25 or 30 FPS where possible;
- landscape orientation preferred;
- short, clear recordings focused on one everyday task;
- no professional filming experience required.
Privacy is very important. Every personal information will be anonymized by our software, but we anyway suggest contributors to avoid recording:
- children;
- private documents;
- screens showing personal information;
- passwords, bank details, medical information, or other sensitive data;
- private conversations;
- mirrors or reflective surfaces showing people unintentionally;
- locations where recording would be inappropriate.
Before each mission, contributors receive instructions describing what to record and what privacy/quality rules to follow. After submission, recordings are reviewed for quality and privacy compliance. Contributors are paid for all recordings that are accepted after review.
This is a flexible opportunity: there is no minimum commitment, no fixed schedule, and you can participate only in the missions you are comfortable with.
We are looking for people who are reliable, careful with instructions, and interested in contributing to the development of future robotics and AI systems. No technical background is required, although students interested in AI, robotics, computer vision, engineering, design, or data may find the project especially interesting. If you can record stable everyday videos and have a way to keep the camera on your head while keeping your hands free, you can do this. A simple head mount is enough. Contributors can use one they already have or buy an inexpensive one online or from local electronics/accessory stores.
