About the team

The Founder's Associate team works directly with Performativ's other teams on problems that cut across product, commercial, finance, and operations. The team builds tools, models, and internal applications that improve how decisions are made and how recurring work gets done.

The work sits close to both business problems and implementation. You will work with engineers and business stakeholders when needed, but you will also be expected to build independently. The surface area is broad, which means prioritizing practical solutions, working with imperfect inputs, and knowing when a lightweight tool is better than a larger engineering project.

About the role

As a Founder's Associate working student, you will own internal tools, AI applications, and focused strategic projects from problem definition through implementation.

You will work directly with the founders and executive team across product, commercial, finance, and operations. Some projects will start with a clear business problem. Others will start with a spreadsheet, a manual workflow, an unreliable data source, or an idea that needs to be tested quickly.

A core part of the role is building lightweight applications using Python, LLMs, APIs, and automation tools. You will turn prototypes into tools that people can actually use, including handling data flows, error cases, interfaces, deployment, and maintenance.

You will own independent mini projects and be responsible for scoping the problem, choosing the right approach, building the solution, documenting it, and measuring whether it worked. You will need to move between technical implementation and business context without losing detail in either.

The less visible work is part of the job. You will clean data, debug integrations, investigate failed automations, maintain tools after launch, document assumptions, and replace prototypes when they no longer hold up.

This role requires approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, with flexibility around exam periods. It is based in Copenhagen and requires current enrollment at a university in Copenhagen. Candidates should already be based in Copenhagen, as relocation is not part of this working student role.

What you'll do

• Build internal applications that automate recurring workflows and improve business decisions.
• Turn LLM prototypes into reliable tools that can be used in day to day operations.
• Own focused strategic and operational projects across product, commercial, finance, and operations.
• Develop Python based tools that connect models, APIs, internal data, and business workflows.
• Create financial models and scenario analyses that make assumptions and tradeoffs explicit.
• Reduce manual work by identifying repetitive processes and replacing them with practical automation.
• Scope independent projects and carry them from problem definition through deployment and documentation.
• Debug failed workflows, unreliable data, and edge cases that appear once tools are used in practice.
• Translate loosely defined founder and executive questions into structured analyses or working software.
• Decide what not to build when a spreadsheet, process change, or existing tool solves the problem more effectively.
• Measure what shipped using adoption, time saved, accuracy, reliability, or another relevant outcome.
• Maintain and improve internal tools after launch as requirements and underlying systems change.

What we're looking for

• Experience building applications with LLMs and moving them beyond prototypes into usable environments.
• Strong Python skills and the ability to build working software independently (together with LLMs of your choice).
• Advanced Excel capability, including nested formulas, financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
• Ability to structure ambiguous business problems and turn them into clear technical or analytical work.
• Technical curiosity and hands on experience with AI tools, APIs, automations, and modern development workflows.
• Strong attention to detail when working with data, assumptions, financial models, and production workflows.
• Clear written communication for documenting tools, assumptions, decisions, and findings.
• Confidence to disagree with customers, founders, and executives when the evidence or technical constraints point elsewhere.
• Ability to take ownership of a small project without waiting for detailed instructions.
• Current enrollment at a university in Copenhagen, preferably in computer science, finance and IT, software engineering, or a related field.
• Availability for approximately 20 to 25 hours per week in the office in Copenhagen, with flexibility during exam periods.
• Ability to travel occasionally when a project requires in person work with colleagues or external stakeholders.

Preferred experience

• Experience deploying small web applications, APIs, or internal tools.
• Experience working with Python & managing cloud infrastructure and setting up CI/CD.
• Experience with databases, cloud infrastructure, version control, or software testing.
• Experience building automations that connect multiple systems or third party APIs.
