Lead a Team. Maintain Standards. Support Critical Operations.

Austability GmbH is seeking an experienced Cleaning & Janitorial Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations across U.S. military training facilities in Grafenwohr and Hohenfels.

This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for leading a team of approximately six cleaning staff, coordinating daily work schedules, ensuring high hygiene standards, and maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable managing people, using Microsoft Office, and supporting cleaning activities alongside the team when required.

What You'll Be Doing

As Cleaning & Janitorial Supervisor, you will:

Lead, train, motivate, and supervise a team of approximately six cleaners.

Prepare and manage daily and weekly work schedules using Microsoft Excel.

Allocate resources and staffing to meet operational requirements.

Monitor attendance, productivity, labor utilization, and work quality.

Participate in routine and deep-cleaning activities as required.

Ensure all facilities meet contractual cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Conduct inspections and maintain accurate records of completed work.

Identify and address quality issues, rework requirements, and performance concerns.

Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Prepare reports, schedules, and operational documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Liaise with site management regarding operational performance and facility requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Minimum 8 years' experience in commercial cleaning, sanitation, facilities services, or janitorial operations.

Previous experience leading cleaning teams and managing employee schedules.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Valid driving licence recognised in Germany.

Reliable personal transportation.

Ability to obtain and maintain access to U.S. military installations.

Eligible to work and reside in Germany.

Willingness to live within approximately one hour driving distance of Grafenwohr and travel to Hohenfels when required.

Ability to provide two recent employer reference letters.

Desired Qualifications

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have:

Romanian language proficiency.

Working knowledge of German.

Previous experience working on military facilities or government service contracts.

Experience measuring team performance against productivity and cleanliness targets.

Former service in the U.S. Armed Forces or German Bundeswehr.

Performance Bonus Opportunity

In addition to the annual salary, employees may qualify for a performance-based bonus of up to €3,000 per year based on:

Cleaning productivity and output

Labor utilization and workforce planning

Cleaning quality and inspection results

Team attendance and schedule reliability

Administrative accuracy and reporting standards

Bonus eligibility and payment criteria will be detailed in the formal employment offer and incentive agreement.

Working Environment

This position involves:

Indoor and outdoor cleaning activities

Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement

Use of approved cleaning chemicals and equipment

Work in wet environments and changing weather conditions

Travel between operational locations as required

All working hours, breaks, and employment conditions are administered in accordance with applicable German employment law.
