Senior Product Developer – Heavy Wovens (parental leave cover)

Filippa K is looking for an experienced Senior Product Developer to join our Product Team for a parental leave cover, with responsibility for heavy wovens including technical outerwear, denim and leather.
The Role
As Senior Product Developer, you will take ownership of the development process within your categories, from first prototype through to salesman samples and production handover.
The role has a particular focus on technically demanding product categories, including outerwear, denim, leather and heavy woven constructions, where strong product knowledge and supplier communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive product development from initial design brief and prototype through to salesman samples and production handover
- Translate design ideas into technically feasible and high-quality products
- Work directly with suppliers on construction, workmanship, fit and technical solutions
- Manage sample comments and follow-up, ensuring clear communication with suppliers
- Lead and participate in fittings together with Design and Pattern
- Challenge and improve construction methods, materials and product solutions to achieve the right balance of quality, design and cost
- Drive price negotiations to achieve target margins while maintaining product quality
- Ensure development timelines and critical deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate product information and technical data in PLM
- Collaborate closely with Fabric, Design, Pattern, Production and Buying
- Contribute to the continued development of more digital, efficient and supplier-driven product development processes. Your Profile
We are looking for someone with extensive experience in product development within a premium or high-end fashion environment and a strong technical understanding of complex woven products.
You have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Product Developer within outerwear and heavy wovens
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit and production methods
- Experience working directly with international suppliers and factories
- Strong commercial understanding, including product costing and margin awareness
- Experience working in PLM systems and Excel
- A structured, solution-oriented and hands-on approach
- The ability to manage several developments and deadlines simultaneously About You
You are passionate about product and craftsmanship and enjoy being close to both the creative and technical sides of the development process. You are comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and finding solutions together with suppliers.
