Hostel Supervisor

Your mission

At ClinkMAMA and ClinkCOCO, we want to create more than just a place to sleep. We want our hostels to feel like a home away from home – places where travellers from all over the world feel welcome, comfortable and able to connect.

As a Supervisor, you play a big part in making that happen. You’ll be visible, approachable and involved: connecting with guests, supporting your team and making sure the day-to-day operation of both hostels runs smoothly.

MAMA and COCO are smaller, personal hostels, which means you have the opportunity to make a real impact. We want to give you the freedom to develop your own style of leadership, bring forward ideas and make decisions. You’ll have support from management when you need it, but we also trust you to take ownership and act independently.

We don’t expect every decision to be perfect. We do expect you to make decisions when they need to be made, take responsibility for them and learn along the way.

We’ll give you the room to lead. We expect you to step into it.#### Your profile

This role suits someone who likes being trusted with responsibility and isn’t afraid to take the lead.

We can help you develop the skills and confidence that come with that. What we do need is someone who already has the instinct to get involved rather than wait to be told what to do.

You are:

• A confident and sociable communicator who genuinely enjoys working with people
• Independent and comfortable using your own judgement
• Proactive – if you see something that needs doing, you act
• Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for them
• Calm and practical when something unexpected happens
• Someone who leads by example and is willing to jump in alongside the team
• Able to organise a shift, prioritise tasks and keep things running smoothly
• Comfortable being the first point of contact for guest and team issues while on shift
• Someone who can coach, support and give feedback to team members
• Open to receiving feedback yourself and learning from mistakes
• Genuinely interested in creating memorable experiences for travellers
• Excited to work with an international team and guests from all over the world
• Interested in developing yourself as a leader and taking on more responsibility over time

Reality check

This is hospitality, and we're open 24/7. Your shifts may include mornings, evenings and weekends. We want to be upfront about that – being part of running two hostels means being there when our guests and your team need you.
